Federal Impact Aid Benefits All Students!

Every year the Bremerton School District must apply for Federal Impact Aid funds from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds compensate the District for the loss of local tax dollars due to families living in tax exempt federal property in the Bremerton area.

The District receives approximately $300,000 in funding from the annual Impact Aid survey. Funds are used for basic education programs districtwide - benefitting all BSD students!

It is critical that we receive this completed form information from every household in the District (one per family).

We invite you to log-into Skyward to complete this form online. A paper copy of the form is available upon request at any of our schools or by emailing Student.Data@BremertonSchools.org.

The district only reports the number of students living with families who live on and/or work on federal property. We do not report information about individual students to the Department of Education.

If you have more questions, contact our Student Data Team at 360-473-1076 or Student.Data@BremertonSchools.org. Thank you for your cooperation and support!

Have you completed your ABCs?

While you are logged in to your Skyward Family Access account to complete your Impact Aid form, we hope you will take a few moments to complete your Annual-Back-to-School Check-in process (ABCs), if you haven't already. It should take about 15 minutes (or less!) to complete the process for each child in your household and can be done on any mobile device or computer. The ABC process must be completed for all students in the District every fall. Thank you!

Reminder: October 25 and 31 are "regular" school days

As previously communicated, there is an error in this year’s printed wall calendar.

  • October 25 and 31 are regular school days - NOT non-student days.
  • The November calendar is correct: November 1 is a non-student day and conferences are November 7-8.

You can download the corrected October calendar page or the 2024-25 academic calendar (last updated in August) here. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Conferences are November 7-8

Conferences are Thursday, November 7 and Friday, November 8. Please watch for communication from your child's school and/or teacher about signing up for a conference for your student(s).

Winter weather communications

Now that the days are getting colder, we wanted to share our winter weather communication plan with families. Please review our winter weather communication plan so you know how we will keep you informed about school closures and delays. Thank you!
