Weekly Update from Principal Potis

Husky Families,

We had so much fun engaging with families during our SEL Night on Wednesday! Thank you to everyone who was able to make it during such a busy time. We also want to express our gratitude to Crownhill's PTA, who generously provided dinner for students, staff, and families in attendance. We are grateful to have such a supportive PTA!

Please remember there is no school on Friday, October 31st. Teachers will be engaged in professional development in the morning and preparing for conferences in the afternoon. The office will also be closed. We look forward to seeing all of you at conferences next week!

As always, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Take care,

Carre Potis

November Trait of the Month: Gratitude

We are looking forward to focusing on Gratitude in November! One way to think about Gratitude is “choosing to appreciate the people and things in our lives.” Practicing Gratitude can increase our well-being and our happiness.

Coming up next, our Annual Craft Fair & Silent Auction on Saturday, November 1st! This community staple has been around since the 1960s and we’re honored to be able to continue the tradition. We’ll have over 25 vendors, including two hot food trucks, plus Santa will be available for free photos! Don’t miss a special appearance by Rhubarb the Reindeer, the Tacoma Rainiers’ mascot, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. You’ll also get early access to our Scholastic Book Fair…you won’t want to miss it!

And finally, our Scholastic Book Fair will be open during conferences on 11/6, 11/7, and 11/10! The money raised during the Book Fair helps provide books for our students and supports our classroom libraries. We’ll have limited copies of the BRAND NEW Diary of a Wimpy Kid 20: Partypooper and Dog-Man: Big Jim Believes!
