Husky Happenings

Weekly Update from Principal Potis

Husky Families,

It has been wonderful to connect with so many of you the last two days for conferences. We truly appreciate your partnership in your student's learning. As a reminder, we have no school for our last day of conferences on Monday and there is no school for Veteran's Day on Tuesday. We look forward to welcoming our Huskies back on Wednesday.

As we recognize Veteran's Day, we pause to honor and thank all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. At Crownhill, we are especially thankful for the veterans within our own community — our families and neighbors — who remind us what it means to serve with integrity and heart. We hope everyone takes a moment this weekend to reflect on their contributions and to express gratitude for their service.

As always, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Take care,

Carre Potis

Crownhill Principal

November Trait of the Month: Gratitude

We are looking forward to focusing on Gratitude in November! One way to think about Gratitude is “choosing to appreciate the people and things in our lives.” Practicing Gratitude can increase our well-being and our happiness.

And finally, our Scholastic Book Fair will be open during conferences on Monday! The money raised during the Book Fair helps provide books for our students and supports our classroom libraries. We’ll have limited copies of the BRAND NEW Diary of a Wimpy Kid 20: Partypooper and Dog-Man: Big Jim Believes!

You can join Crownhill's AMAZING PTA here.

Native American and Alaska Native Heritage Month

November is Native American and Alaska Native Heritage Month. The month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people. Native American Heritage Month is also an opportune time to educate the general public about tribes, to raise a general awareness about the unique challenges Native people have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges.
