Weekly Update from Principal Potis

Husky Families,

We’ve officially reached the halfway point of the school year! As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow while our teachers spend the day wrapping up grades and preparing report cards. Report cards will be available for families to view through Skyward Family Access on February 11. Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support as we head into the second half of the year.

As always, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Take care,

Carre Potis
Crownhill Principal

Highly Capable Referral Window is Open

The window for referring students for Bremerton School District’s Highly Capable (HiCap) services opened December 1, 2025, and closes March 15, 2026. Teachers, families, and community members may refer students for consideration.

HiCap services are available for students in grades 1–5 within their neighborhood schools through clustered classrooms with evidence-based enrichment in the regular learning environment. For grades 6–12, students are supported through clustered advisory periods and rigorous coursework. Students may be identified for services in literacy and/or math.

Families will be notified of screening results by early May, and identified students who accept services will begin receiving them in the 2026–27 school year.

For more information, please visit the Highly Capable page on the Bremerton School District website or contact your child’s teacher.

February Trait of the Month: Honesty

This month’s focus is Honesty. One way to think about Honesty is “being truthful in what you say and do.” Practicing Honesty helps strengthen our relationships and reduce stress.

Honesty is 1 of 3 traits we will focus on throughout the year that helps students Be Well. Throughout the school, students will be developing skills like emotion regulation, positive self-talk, and stress-management.
